Sinhua Elementary School

Sinhua Elementary was founded in 1898 as "Damujiang Public School" (大目降公學校), during the Japanese colonial era — one of the oldest elementary schools in the greater Tainan area, predating later administrative reorganization by decades. It was renamed "Xinhua Public School" in 1921, "Xinhua National School" in 1946, and "Xinhua National Elementary School" in 1968. Over 125 years of continuous operation make it Xinhua's founding school, from which several other district schools — including Kǒupí Experimental Elementary and Zuozhen Elementary — trace their earliest branch-classroom lineage. The school also runs a gifted-and-talented (資優班) program today.

新化國小創校於明治31年（1898年）日治時期，初名「大目降公學校」，是大台南地區歷史最悠久的小學之一，早於後來的行政區劃調整數十年。大正10年（1921年）更名「新化公學校」，民國35年（1946年）改稱「新化國民學校」，民國57年（1968年）確立現今校名「新化國民小學」。逾125年持續辦學，使其成為新化的創始學校，包括口埤實驗小學、左鎮國小在內的多所district學校，其最早的分教室歷史皆可追溯至本校。學校目前並設有資優班課程。
