Xingnan Junior High traces its roots to a preparatory office established on December 22, 1970, opening for classes in 1971 with only eight classrooms after the Taoyuan County government and Zhongli City Office jointly acquired the school site in spring 1971. It became municipal on December 25, 2014. The school is currently undergoing relocation: a new campus broke ground on April 11, 2024, and is expected to open around 2027 under the new name Huanbei Junior High (環北國中), as the current site is being repurposed for a Zhongli funeral-services park.
興南國中前身籌備處成立於民國59年（1970年）12月22日，1971年開學，初期僅有8間教室，校地由桃園縣政府與中壢市公所於1971年春季共同取得。2014年12月25日改制為市立學校。學校目前正進行遷校作業：新校區已於2024年4月11日動工，預計2027年前後啟用，並更名為「環北國中」；現址則將轉作中壢殯葬園區用地。
