A merged campus with roots in the Taokas settlement.
Xingang Junior-Elementary School traces its roots to 1946, when it opened as the "Houlong National School Xingang Branch." In 2014, it was formed into its present combined junior-high-and-elementary structure by merging Xingang Elementary, Futian Elementary, and Zaoqiao Township's Fengghu Elementary — consolidating grades one through nine on a single campus. The school later relocated to a modern site in the Miaoli High Speed Rail Special District, and remains historically significant as the only school that has served the Taokas (道卡斯) indigenous Xingang settlement.
