Xiatan Elementary School

Xiatan Elementary was established on April 24, 1921, during the Japanese colonial era, as Tainan Prefecture Xiatan Public School. The school marked its 90th anniversary with a commemorative issue in the early 2010s, and today runs an attached kindergarten alongside its elementary program. It is known locally for a strong food-and-agriculture literacy curriculum that draws on the government-supplied pork program in school lunches, as well as bilingual and English enrichment for middle-grade students and international exchange activities.

下潭國小創立於大正10年（1921年）4月24日的日治時期，時稱台南州下潭公學校。學校曾發行建校九十週年紀念特刊，如今除國小部外，並附設幼兒園。學校以扎實的食農教育著稱，結合校園午餐的公糧豬肉政策，並提供中高年級雙語與英語增能課程，以及國際交流活動。
