Xiancao Experimental Elementary traces back to 1920, when it opened as a branch school of Baihe Public School, later upgraded to "Guanziling Public School" status. In 2021 it became the first publicly-run, KIST-operated ("公辦公營KIST") elementary school in Taiwan, adopting the KIPP-inspired KIST (KIST Learning School) educational model — a notable national first. Today it operates under the full official name "Xiancao Experimental Elementary School" (仙草實驗小學), with a small student body of roughly 50 students on a 3.8-hectare campus, and also runs a satellite branch, Guanling Branch School (關嶺分校).
仙草實小前身可追溯至大正9年（1920年），最初為白河公學校分校，後升格為「關子嶺公學校」。民國110年（2021年）成為全台第一所「公辦公營KIST」國小，採用源自美國KIPP理念的KIST（KIST Learning School）教育模式，為全國創舉。現以「仙草實驗小學」為正式全名，校地3.8公頃，學生數約50人，並設有關嶺分校。
