Wuwang Elementary School

Wuwang Elementary was established and began enrollment on July 1, 1993. It takes its name from the neighborhood "五王里/五王村," itself named for a large Wangye (王爺) temple locally said to be one of the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, built on what was once overgrown wasteland. The school's buildings were constructed in three phases starting in April 1993, and include an underground playground and underground parking garage — unusual features for a Tainan elementary school. The school also runs a "五王城市農夫" (Wuwang Urban Farmer) program that converts spare campus land into a self-sufficient student garden.

五王國小於1993年7月1日設校並開始招生。校名源自「五王里／五王村」，該地名又源於當地一座相傳為東南亞規模數一數二的王爺廟，建於昔日荒蕪雜草地上。校舍自1993年4月起分三期興建，設有地下操場與地下停車場——在台南國小中相當罕見的設施。學校並推動「五王城市農夫」計畫，將校園閒置空間轉化為自給自足的學生菜園。
