Wugong Elementary School

Named for a donor family's ancestral hall.

Wugong Elementary School began in 1959 as a branch campus of Jingmei Elementary School, known as "Longsheng Branch" (隆盛分校). It became independent as "Longsheng National School" in 1964 and was renamed "Wugong National School" in 1965, after the Zhou Zhenxi family ancestral trust (祭祀公業周振西) donated over 1,000 ping of land — the school takes its name from the family's clan hall designation, "武功堂."

Wugong is the earliest-established school in Wenshan's Wanlong (萬隆) neighborhood, with a total campus area of roughly 15,407 square meters. Its name is a rare example among Taipei public schools of one named directly after a private donor family's ancestral hall.
