A century of schooling on Magong's southern shore.
Wude Elementary traces its history back to April 1918, when it began as a branch school of Magong Public School under Japanese colonial administration. It went through several name changes before becoming an independent school in 1939 as "馬公第三公學校" (Magong's Third Public School), was renamed Wude National School in 1954, and took its current name in 1968. The school celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018, and today it is the only school in Magong's outlying, rural southern coast to run a dedicated special-education class.
