Wenxian Junior High School (North District) opened its doors on August 1, 1987. Planning began in 1984, when the city instructed Dexi Junior High to prepare a founding budget; Zhang Lingcai, then principal of Jincheng Junior High, was appointed in 1985 to head the preparatory office, and construction began in November 1986. The campus site was chosen in North District's Wenxian/Wencheng neighborhood. Note: there is a separate, unrelated school also named "文賢國中" in Tainan's Rende District — this profile covers specifically the North District school, whose official site is whjh.tn.edu.tw.
文賢國中（北區）於1987年（民國76年）8月1日正式開校。籌設作業始於1984年（民國73年），市府指示德智國中編列創校預算；1985年（民國74年）由時任進學國中校長張齡才受命主持籌備處，1986年11月動工興建。校地選定於北區文賢／文成一帶。特別說明：臺南市仁德區另有一所同名「文賢國中」，與本校無關，本頁專指北區這所學校，官網為whjh.tn.edu.tw。
