Wenguang Elementary School

Wenguang Elementary is the newest of Magong City's 13 elementary schools, opened on March 1, 2005, after construction began the previous year to relieve overcrowding at neighboring Magong, Zhongxing, and Zhongzheng elementary schools. It opened with 5 classes and 75 students, many transferred in from those over-capacity schools. Its campus architecture is deliberately designed to mimic ocean waves and a winding coastline, meant to remind students of their ancestors' seafaring spirit, and the school has since developed water-sports and marine athletics as a specialty.

文光國小是馬公市13所國小中最年輕的一所，於民國93年（2004年）開始興建，民國94年（2005年）3月1日正式開學，主要為紓解馬公國小、中興國小、中正國小等校過於擁擠的就學壓力。創校初期僅5班75名學生，多數由上述學校轉入。校舍建築刻意模仿海浪與蜿蜒海岸線的意象，期望喚起學生對先人航海精神的認同，學校也因此發展出水上運動與海洋體育的特色課程。
