Wanning Elementary School

Wanning Elementary opened as a branch of Dongli Elementary in August 1958 and became independent just a year later, in August 1959, taking its present name in 1968. The area was historically known as "Wanren Plain" (萬人埔), and sits centrally within the East Rift Valley, near where the Xiuguluan River converges with Amei Stream. The school's location places it with Liushishishan visible to the east and Yushan to the west — a genuinely panoramic vantage point at the literal geographic and agricultural heart of Fuli Township.

萬寧國小於民國47年（1958年）8月以東里國小分校形式開辦，僅一年後的民國48年（1959年）8月即獨立設校，民國57年（1968年）定名為現名。這一帶舊稱「萬人埔」，位於花東縱谷中段，鄰近秀姑巒溪與阿眉溪匯流之處。學校地理位置得天獨厚——東可望六十石山，西可眺玉山——堪稱富里鄉地理與農業的正中心，視野開闊。
