Wan Neng Vocational High School

Wan Neng Vocational High School was founded by Lin Wanlai and Huang Nengcai, with approval from the Taiwan Provincial Department of Education on August 25, 1970, initially as a supplementary/cram vocational school. It was upgraded to full vocational senior high status the following year, 1971, retaining the original supplementary school as an attached continuing-education division. The school initially enrolled one class each of machining, electrical, and commerce students. By 1980, it had invested more than NT$4 million in machining and electrical department equipment, reportedly leading private schools in the Chiayi-Yunlin region at the time. The school is affiliated with Vanung University (萬能科技大學) in Taoyuan, part of the same educational lineage, and has long supplied technical and commercial-track graduates to industries supporting the agricultural plain economy of Shuishang and neighboring townships.

萬能高級工商職業學校由林萬來與黃能才創辦，於民國59年（1970年）8月25日獲台灣省教育廳核准設立，初名嘉義縣私立萬能工商職業補習學校。翌年（民國60年，1971年）升格為正式高級工商職業學校，原補習學校則轉為附設進修部。創校初期招收機工、電工、商科各一班學生。至民國69年（1980年），學校已投入逾新台幣400萬元於機工、電工科設備，據稱當時居嘉雲地區私校之首。學校與桃園的萬能科技大學同屬一脈，長年為嘉義水上鄉及鄰近鄉鎮的農業平原經濟輸送技術與商科畢業人才。
