Wanluan Township is a Hakka township world-famous for its Wanluan pig's-knuckle (萬巒豬腳) cuisine street. The dish's fame grew nationwide after President Chiang Ching-kuo was photographed eating it at a Wanluan stall in the 1970s–80s, and the pig's-knuckle street's paving today reflects Hakka cultural motifs such as blue shirts, betel nuts, and pig's knuckles.
