Over a century at the root of island schooling.

Wan'an Elementary was founded on March 31, 1917, as "Wang'an National School" (網垵公學校) under Japanese rule, with a school district that originally covered both the Wang'an and Qimei (then called "Da-yu") areas. In 1920, a branch classroom was established at Da-yu; that branch became independent in 1923, and is the direct ancestor of today's Qimei Elementary School. The school also ceded Huayu Village's school district to form Huayu Elementary in 1952, and Shui'an Village's district to form Shui'an Elementary in 1958. Around 2017, the school marked 100 years of continuous history.
