An offshoot of the district's founding school.
Jian-Guo Elementary was established on September 2, 1957 as the "Dalin Branch" (大林分校) of Taoyuan National School — the same historic school that traces its own roots to 1897 — before becoming an independent school. Nearly 70 years old, it is one of the older neighborhood elementary schools in Taoyuan District, and its founding reflects the same "satellite branch" pattern that produced several other nearby schools as the city's school-age population expanded through the postwar era.

Jian-Guo traces its origins to Taoyuan National School, the district's oldest and founding school, linking it to the deepest roots of public education in Taoyuan.
Relieving the pressure on Taoyuan's founding school.
Jian-Guo Elementary was founded to relieve overcrowding at the historic Taoyuan National School — successor of the original Meiji-era Taoyuan school seated near Wenchang Temple — reflecting the district's role as the administrative and educational hub from which surrounding neighborhood schools branched off. See the Taoyuan county page for more on the region.
