Donghe Elementary School

Donghe Elementary opened on May 1, 1921, during the Japanese colonial era, under the name "Damawuku Public School." The school celebrated its 100th anniversary on December 24, 2022, with celebrations delayed a year by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the years leading up to that milestone, Taitung County invested more than NT$40 million over four years in campus upgrades, culminating in a new "Ocean Sports Center" featuring a marine leisure classroom, boathouse, mural, and skateboard park — transforming a century-old campus into a hub for ocean-based learning.

東河國小創立於1921年5月1日（日治時期），初名「大馬武窟公學校」。學校於2022年12月24日舉辦建校百週年慶祝活動（因COVID-19疫情延後一年）。在邁向百年校慶之前，台東縣政府四年間投入逾4,000萬元進行校園改造，最終落成「海洋運動中心」，內含海洋休閒教室、船屋、壁畫及滑板場，讓這所百年老校轉型為海洋教育的重鎮。
