Built up from scratch, block by block.
Zhongxiao Junior High began preparatory work in July 1969 under founding principal Zhang Liangbin and was formally established on August 1, 1970. Its main campus buildings — three teaching blocks, a reviewing stand, a sports field, and basketball and volleyball courts — were completed by June 1975, and a student activity center followed in 1979. In 2011, a "campus beautification" project gave the school its current arts-oriented campus look, which visitors still see today.

Part of Taipei's oldest district.
Zhongxiao Junior High sits within Datong District, Taipei's oldest settled area, though no distinct historical tie between the campus itself and specific nearby landmarks has been documented. The district around it remains closely identified with the historic Dadaocheng old street, its Qing-era tea-export trade, and landmarks such as the Confucius Temple and Bao'an Temple in nearby Dalongdong.
