Xinyi Junior High School began with a preparatory office established on August 25, 1983, enrolling its first intake of 13 classes in July 1985. Its street address changed from "Zhuangjing Road" to the current Songren Road designation in December 2007. The school opened an outdoor swimming pool in 1987, later upgraded with heating in 2004, and has hosted citywide sports meets. Since 2001 its campus has also housed Xinyi Community College, and since 2017 it has run a manners and etiquette campaign for students.
信義國中籌備處於1983年（民國72年）8月25日成立，1985年（民國74年）7月首度招生13班。校址門牌於2007年12月由「莊敬路」改為現今的「松仁路」。學校於1987年啟用室外游泳池，2004年增設溫水設備；1988年曾承辦松山區運動會。自2001年起，信義社區大學亦於校內開課；2017年起推動「灑掃應對進退」禮儀教育活動。
