Renai Elementary was founded in August 1959 with just 3 classes and 144 students, established specifically to relieve overcrowding at nearby Jian'an Elementary School. Its site had been set aside as far back as a 1952 city land-use plan that also reserved land for what became Renai Junior High. In 1989 the school added sensory-integration classrooms, a central drinking-water system, and a resurfaced PU running track, and from 2006 to 2017 it ran a formal student-exchange partnership with an American international school.
仁愛國小創立於民國48年（1959年）8月，開校時僅3班、144名學生，設校目的是為紓解鄰近建安國小的擁擠情形。校地早在1952年市政府的土地規劃中即已預留，同一計畫也劃出了後來仁愛國中的用地。1989年，學校增建感覺統合教室、中央飲水系統，並重鋪PU跑道。2006年至2017年間，學校更曾與一所美國國際學校進行正式的學生交流合作。
