Founded the same year Neihu joined Taipei City.

Taipei Municipal Neihu Junior High School was established in 1968, and according to the Neihu District Office's official district gazetteer, it was the first junior high school established in the district. Its founding year coincides exactly with Taiwan's nationwide extension of compulsory education from six to nine years, a policy shift that triggered a wave of new junior-high construction across the country — and, remarkably, with the same year Neihu itself was formally incorporated into Taipei City after having previously been part of Taipei County. The school's motto, "Health, Reason, Care" (健康、明理、關懷), reflects its long-standing educational values.

The school and the district's municipal status share a birth year. See the Taipei county page for more on the region.
