Minsheng Elementary opened on December 1, 1968, under founding principal Liu Zhe-san. Located within the Minsheng Community, the school reflects Songshan's 1960s–70s transformation into a planned residential district. It is known citywide for its tchoukball (巧固球) program, highlighted in a Taipei City Government press release titled "民生巧固，閃耀亞洲" ("Minsheng Tchoukball, Shining Across Asia").
民生國小於民國57年（1968年）12月1日創校，首任校長為劉哲三。學校座落於民生社區內，見證松山區在1960至70年代轉型為規劃完善住宅區的過程。學校以巧固球運動聞名全市，台北市政府新聞稿更以「民生巧固，閃耀亞洲」為題加以報導。
