Heping Experimental Elementary opened on August 1, 2017, as Taiwan's first publicly operated experimental elementary school, launching with just grades 1–3 plus a kindergarten class — 60 students in total. Due to its compact campus, the school caps enrollment at two classes of about 29 students per grade level, and shares the nearby Da'an Sports Center's basketball court as supplementary facility space. Its curriculum is built on five student-driven mechanisms: choice, planning, seeking help, practice, and reflection (選擇、規劃、尋援、實踐、反思).
和平實小於民國106年（2017年）8月1日創校，是全台灣第一所公辦實驗國民小學，創校初期僅設一至三年級及幼兒園班，共60名學生。因校地精巧，學校每個年級僅設兩班、每班約29人，並借用鄰近大安運動中心的籃球場作為輔助場地。課程核心建立在「選擇、規劃、尋援、實踐、反思」五大機制之上。
