From borrowed auditoriums to a bilingual school.
Dali Elementary School was founded in 1955. Before it had its own campus, its earliest classes were held in the auditoriums of neighboring Longshan and Shuangyuan elementary schools, until the school moved into its own buildings in 1957. An attached kindergarten was added in 1985. In December 2022, the Taipei Department of Education designated Dali a "Bilingual Education School," reflecting the city's push to expand bilingual instruction. The campus sits directly on Bangka Boulevard (艋舺大道), named for and just steps from the historic Bangka settlement core.

Dali Elementary sits directly on Bangka Boulevard (艋舺大道), named for the historic Bangka (艋舺) settlement, also known as Monga, that gave rise to the whole district. A short distance away, Longshan Temple (龍山寺) remains Bangka's spiritual anchor, with the traditional shops of Herb Lane (青草巷) lining the streets nearby — placing this school within easy reach of Wanhua's oldest and most enduring cultural landmarks.
