Tongluo Elementary was founded in 1899 (Meiji 32) during the Japanese colonial era as "Tongluowan Public School" (銅鑼灣公學校), making it one of the oldest schools in the township. Like many schools of its era, it was renamed multiple times through the colonial and postwar periods. Today the school's campus covers approximately 3.3 hectares and enjoys a scenic setting beside Niubei Mountain (牛背山).
銅鑼國小創立於日治明治32年(1899年),創校時稱為「銅鑼灣公學校」,是銅鑼鄉歷史最悠久的學校之一。如同同時期的許多學校,銅鑼國小歷經日治與戰後時期多次更名。如今校地面積約3.3公頃,緊鄰牛背山,景致優美。
