Zhongxiao Junior High School

Zhongxiao Junior High School was founded on June 1, 1963, with groundbreaking held the same day as its founding approval. The school's name honors Koxinga's historical title "Zhongxiao Bo" (忠孝伯, Earl of Loyalty and Filial Piety); it was initially proposed under the name "Tainan Municipal Chenggong Junior Middle School" before being renamed "Zhongxiao Junior Middle School" upon enrollment approval later that month. Classes began in September 1963 in borrowed classrooms at Jinxue Elementary while its own buildings were under construction, completed by January 1964. Its first official principal, Chen Fengjin, appointed in 1964, set the school's founding anniversary and its motto, "誠公勤樸." The school was renamed to its current name in 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform, and relocated to its current Chongshan Road campus in 2003; its former site was taken over by National Tainan Teachers College, now part of National University of Tainan's Honor Campus.

忠孝國中創校於1963年（民國52年）6月1日，設校核准與動土典禮同日舉行。校名取自延平郡王鄭成功「忠孝伯」封號，最初曾以「臺南市立成功初級中學」之名提出申請，其後於同月核准招生時改名為「忠孝初級中學」。1963年9月開學，因校舍尚未完工，暫借進學國小教室上課，至1964年1月校舍始告完工。1964年首任正式校長陳逢金到任，訂定創校紀念日及校訓「誠公勤樸」。1968年因應九年國民義務教育改制為現名，2003年遷至現今崇善路校址，原校址則由國立臺南師範學院（今臺南大學榮譽校區）接管使用。
