Xinshi Elementary School

Xinshi Elementary School dates to April 1, 1917, when it began as a branch of Damuxiang (大目降) Public School; it became independent as “Xinshi Public School” on April 1, 1920, and was renamed “Xinshi National School” in 1941 and “Tainan County Xinshi Township Xinshi National School” in February 1947. With over a century of continuous operation, the school sits centrally in Xinshi District on Zhongxing Street. Xinshi District as a whole is known for pineapple cultivation and, more recently, the Southern Taiwan Science Park's tech and archaeological presence.

新市國小創立於大正6年（1917年）4月1日，前身為大目降公學校分校，大正9年（1920年）4月1日獨立設校為「新市公學校」，昭和16年（1941年）改名「新市國民學校」，民國36年（1947年）2月改稱「台南縣新市鄉新市國民學校」。校史逾百年，校址位於新市區中興街，居於區域核心地帶。新市區整體以鳳梨種植聞名，近年更因南部科學園區的科技與考古文化而備受矚目。
