A splinter school from Qigu's historic parent campus.
Shulin Elementary began in August 1961 as a branch of Zhuqiao National School and became independent on August 1, 1970, as "台南縣七股鄉樹林國民小學," under founding principal Zhang Dengyuan. It is one of two branch schools — alongside Sangu Elementary — that split off from the historic Zhuqiao school as Qigu's population grew in the mid-20th century. Today it remains a small rural elementary serving Shulin village.

🏘️ A Small Village School
小型村落學校
Shulin Elementary remains a small, close-knit rural school serving the families of Shulin village in Qigu District.
Part of Qigu's postwar school fragmentation.
Shulin's lineage as a splinter campus of the historic Zhuqiao school reflects the postwar growth and later fragmentation of Qigu's dispersed farming and salt-worker villages into separate school catchments, a pattern shared with other small schools across this lagoon-and-salt-flat district. See the Tainan city page for more on the region.
