A walled-city campus named after a Qing-dynasty fort.
Jincheng Junior High was established in 1961 in Zhongxi District before relocating to a new Anping District campus on November 23, 2015, as part of the Tainan Canal "Star Diamond" urban redevelopment plan. The school took its name from the nearby historic fort "億載金城" (Fort Yi Tsai), built by Qing general Shen Bao-chen in the 1870s, and its new campus was deliberately laid out in a pentagon plan with a central library, evoking the walled-city imagery suggested by the school's name. The school maintains sister-school relationships with institutions in New Zealand, South Korea, France, and Kinmen County.

Living beside Anping's fortress history.
The school is literally named after Anping's Qing-dynasty coastal fort (億載金城), tying its identity directly to the district's 19th-century military and maritime defense history. Its pentagon-shaped campus is a deliberate architectural echo of that walled-fort heritage. See the Tainan county page for more on the region.
