A century-old school named for a legendary general.

Jiangjun Elementary was founded in 1921 and celebrated its 100th anniversary on April 3, 2021, an occasion attended by Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che, with even a 100-year-old alumnus returning to cut the anniversary cake. The school's student taiko drum team won the top "特優" honor at Tainan's 2025 (114學年度) traditional-arts competition for primary and secondary schools. The school takes its name from the same "General" (將軍) legend that names the district itself: local lore holds that Qing dynasty admiral Shi Lang, granted land here after defeating the Ming-loyalist Zheng regime in 1683, built his general's estate ("將軍府") in what became Jiangjun village — right where this century-old school now stands.
