Dasin Elementary was founded in August 1958 as "Tainan County Xinhua Town Dasin National School," opening with an initial 15 classes. The campus sits beside Xinhua's central traffic circle (圓環), growing from cement-tile-roofed classrooms into a modern building complex over successive principals' tenures. A kindergarten division was added in 1980, and the school today offers Hakka-language instruction, a war-drum (戰鼓) troupe, a recorder ensemble, a marching band, and a golf program, serving about 294 students across 18 classes.
大新國小創校於民國47年（1958年）8月，初名「台南縣新化鎮大新國民學校」，開校時設有15班。校園緊鄰新化圓環，歷經歷任校長經營，從水泥瓦頂教室逐步發展為現代化校舍建築群。民國69年（1980年）增設幼兒園，學校現開設客語課程、戰鼓隊、直笛隊、行進樂隊及高爾夫球隊，目前約有294名學生，共18個班級。
