Tainan Municipal Daguang Elementary School

Daguang Elementary School was founded in 1959 as a branch campus of Kaiyuan National School, known as "Kaiyuan National School, Dadao Branch." It became independent the following year, 1960, as "North District Daguang National School," and took its current name, Daguang Elementary, in 1968. The school's gate was relocated to what is now Changrong Road, Section 5, in 1974. In 2019, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation donated five prefabricated classrooms to support the demolition and rebuilding of the school's aging buildings.

大光國小於1959年（民國48年）以「開元國民學校大道分校」型態創立，隔年（1960年，民國49年）獨立設校，定名「北區大光國民學校」，1968年（民國57年）改稱大光國民小學。1974年（民國63年），校門遷至今長榮路五段現址。2019年（民國108年），佛教慈濟基金會捐贈五間組合式教室，協助老舊校舍拆除重建。
