Beishi Elementary School was founded in 1950 as a branch of Madou Elementary School and became independent in 1952. The school maintains a dedicated school-history microsite documenting its principals and campus development since founding. Its campus sits on land that was historically the submerged seabed of the former Daofeng Inland Sea (倒風內海); due to this low-lying terrain, the school flooded to over 200 centimeters during the catastrophic Typhoon Morakot flood of August 2009 (八八水災).
北勢國小創立於民國39年（1950年），原為麻豆國小分校，民國41年（1952年）獨立設校。學校設有專屬校史網頁，記錄歷任校長與校園發展歷程。校地歷史上曾是倒風內海的海床，地勢低窪，因此在民國98年（2009年）8月莫拉克颱風（八八水災）期間，校園淹水超過200公分。
