A small school with a long name history.
Xinxing Elementary opened on April 1, 1944, as a branch school known as "Niuchoupu." It became an independent school in 1946 as Niuchoupu National School, was renamed Xinxing in 1947, and became a Kaohsiung municipal school in 2010. As of 2023, it enrolled around just 32 students, making it one of the smallest schools in Tianliao District's scattered farming-village communities.
新興國小於民國33年(1944年)4月1日以「牛稠埔分校」之名創立,民國35年(1946年)獨立設校為牛稠埔國民學校,民國36年(1947年)改名新興,民國99年(2010年)改為高雄市立學校。截至民國112年(2023年),全校僅約32名學生,是田寮區散布山間農村中規模最小的學校之一。
