From a single pharmacy department to a university.
Tajen University was founded in 1966 as Tajen Pharmacy Institute by Taoyi Huang and Yuan Tsai Lee, starting out with a single five-year Department of Pharmacy. Additional departments were added in 1980, and the school was upgraded to full university status on 1 August 1999, taking its current name while retaining some affiliated five-year junior-college-track programs. Pharmacy remains its founding flagship department: Tajen is one of only ten universities in Taiwan with a Department of Pharmacy. Today it offers programs across four colleges — Pharmacy and Health Care, Leisure and Hospitality, Humanities and Informatics, plus additional programs in biotechnology, computer science and engineering, and food science and technology.
大仁科技大學創立於民國55年（1966年），由黃陶一與李遠彩共同創辦，初名大仁藥學專科學校，最初僅設五年制藥學科一科。1980年陸續增設科系，並於民國88年（1999年）8月1日升格為大學，即現今校名，同時保留部分五專學制班別。藥學系至今仍是該校的招牌科系，大仁也是全台僅十所設有藥學系的大學之一。現今設有藥學暨健康照護學院、休閒與觀光學院、人文暨資訊學院等四大學院，另設有生物科技、資訊工程與食品科學等相關科系。
