Taitung's only school just for girls.
The school was established in 1940 during the Japanese colonial era as the "Taitung Prefectural Taitung Higher Girls' School," one of a network of girls' schools built across Taiwan under Japanese rule. It was renamed after the 1945 Retrocession and became a national school in 2000. Today it remains the only girls' senior high school in Taitung County, serving as a designated priority school for Indigenous students and a member of Taiwan's International Education Travel Alliance (Eastern Taiwan branch). Notably, the school keeps October 25 — Retrocession Day — as its founding anniversary, tying its institutional memory directly to the end of Japanese rule.
