Taichang Elementary School

Taichang Elementary began as a branch of Ji'an Elementary in 1958 and became a full elementary school in 1968. Its earliest classrooms, built in 1963 with wooden roofs, were funded through a combination of provincial subsidy and local donations — a common pattern for rural schools of the era. The campus has since transformed: it moved to a new site in June 1996, completed a new south building in 1998, and added a swimming pool in 1999, giving generations of Taichang students facilities their predecessors could not have imagined.

太昌國小於1958年以吉安國小分校形式創立，1968年升格為完全國小。學校最早的教室建於1963年，採木造屋頂，經費來自省府補助與地方募款的結合——這是當年鄉間學校常見的興建模式。校園此後歷經多次轉型：1996年6月遷入新址，1998年完成南棟大樓，1999年增建游泳池，讓一代代太昌學子享有前輩們難以想像的校園設施。
