Taiban Elementary School

Taiban Elementary serves Taiban Village, a community made up of four distinct Paiwan Indigenous sub-communities: Raripa, Tjua'au, Tjavanaq, and Tjavanges. Set at Taitung's remote southern tip in mountainous Daren Township, the school is best known for its gymnastics program, established in 1988, which has become a defining feature of student life here. It is sometimes mixed up with the similarly named neighboring village and school of Tuban (土坂) — two distinct communities that share a name in English transliteration but not in Chinese.

台坂國小服務台坂村，這個村落由四個排灣族部落組成：拉里巴、大陳、大貓公及大貓公溪等（族語稱Raripa、Tjua'au、Tjavanaq、Tjavanges）。學校位於臺東最南端的山區達仁鄉，以民國77年（1988年）創立的體操隊聞名，已成為學校最鮮明的特色。台坂村常與鄰近同音不同字的「土坂村」及其學校混淆，兩者是截然不同的兩個社區。
