Tai'an Elementary was founded in 1959 to serve Laopi Village in Neipu Township, a single-community rural school with both Hakka and Indigenous residents. The school sits right next to National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and keeps a lively roster of student clubs, including volleyball, ocarina, ukulele, calligraphy, dance, and samba drumming.
