Nearly a century, traced through every name change.

Silin Elementary School's predecessor, a branch of Chaozhou Public School called “Chaozhou Public School Silin Branch,” was established on April 1, 1931, in Silin Village. It became an independent school in 1936 under the name “Silin Public School,” graduating its first class on March 16, 1937. It was renamed “Silin National School” in 1941, and came under Pingtung County jurisdiction as “Pingtung County Chaozhou Town Silin National School” on October 1, 1950. The school took its current name, “Silin Elementary School,” on August 1, 1968, under the nine-year compulsory education reform. With nearly a century of continuous institutional history, Silin traces an unusually well-documented lineage through multiple name changes, mirroring the broader arc of Taiwan's modern education system.
