110 years old, and a "school without fences."

Shun'an Elementary opened in April 1914, during the Japanese colonial era, as a branch of Luodong Public School known as "羅東鎮公學校鹿埔分校," with 40 students. It became independent in April 1920 as Shun'an Public School, and was renamed twice more, in 1941 and 1950, before settling on its current name in 1968. One of the oldest schools in Dongshan Township, it celebrated its 110th anniversary in May 2025. Its old auditorium is registered as a historic building on Taiwan's National Cultural Heritage database, having undergone renovations in 1985 and 2011 and seismic reinforcement in 2013. The school is locally known as a "school without fences" (沒有圍牆的學校).
