Shuishang Elementary School

Shuishang Elementary School was established independently as Shuikutou Public School around 1902, one of the oldest schools in Chiayi County. It celebrated its 120th anniversary — a "雙甲子校慶" or "double sexagenary cycle" celebration — on December 31, 2022, with a commemorative publication. The school holds a notable historical connection: renowned Taiwanese painter Chen Cheng-po (陳澄波, 1895–1947) taught here as an instructor from approximately 1920 to 1923, during the Japanese colonial era, leading students on outdoor sketching trips. The school preserves his original teaching appointment certificate, displayed during the 120th-anniversary celebration. Today it offers an arts-talent dance class, a string orchestra program, and special education programs for students with disabilities.

水上國小獨立設校於明治35年（1902年）前後，初名水堀頭公學校，是嘉義縣歷史最悠久的學校之一。學校於民國111年（2022年）12月31日舉辦「雙甲子校慶」（建校120週年），並發行紀念專刊。學校與知名台灣畫家陳澄波（1895-1947）有著特殊的歷史淵源——陳澄波曾於日治時期約1920至1923年間在此擔任教諭，帶領學生戶外寫生。學校保存了他當年的教師任用證書，並於120週年校慶期間展出。現今學校設有藝術才能舞蹈班、絃樂團，以及特殊教育班服務身心障礙學生。
