From branch class to independent school.
Shuiquan Elementary School began life in 1952 as a branch class of Longquan Elementary School, was upgraded to branch-school status in 1953, and became a fully independent school in 1959. Located in Shuiquan Village on the Hengchun Peninsula, it now operates its own branch campus in turn — the Longquan Branch (龍泉分校) — reflecting the layered, mutually supporting network of small schools that has long served this rural corner of Taiwan's southernmost township.
水泉國小創立於民國41年（1952年），最初為龍泉國小分班，民國42年（1953年）升格為分校，民國48年（1959年）正式獨立設校。學校位於恆春半島的水泉里，如今自身也設有龍泉分校，體現出這個台灣最南端鄉鎮鄉村地區裡，各校彼此支援、層層相連的教育網絡。
