Shuanglian Elementary School

Shuanglian Elementary originated as a branch of Pinglin Elementary School and is a very small campus, with fewer than 30 students — small enough that it was once considered for closure. Since 2015, however, the school has partnered with universities on the "Pear Dreamland, See Shuanglian" project, helping to brand and market the locally grown "Shuanglian Pears." Profits from pear sales have been donated back to the school, an effort widely credited with saving Shuanglian Elementary from closing its doors.

雙連國小前身為坪林國小分校，是一所規模極小的學校，學生人數不到30人——小到一度曾被列入裁併討論名單。然而自民國104年（2015年）起，學校與大學合作推動「夢幻雙連梨」計畫，協助打造並行銷在地種植的「雙連梨」品牌。梨子銷售利潤回饋捐贈給學校，這項努力被廣泛認為是拯救雙連國小免於被裁併的關鍵。
