Shoushan Elementary began as the 'Lingding branch class' (嶺頂分班) of Guishan Elementary School, established on October 7, 1960. It was renamed the 'Shoushan branch school' in 1962 before becoming a fully independent school on April 27, 1963. The campus sits on a hillside along Section 2 of Wanshou Road, near Shoushan Yan Guanyin Temple, a well-known local pilgrimage site — and the school is one of four historical branch schools that split off from the original Guishan Elementary, alongside Dagang, Longshou, and Fuyuan elementary schools.
壽山國小前身為龜山國小「嶺頂分班」，設立於1960年10月7日；1962年更名為「壽山分校」，1963年4月27日正式獨立設校。校園座落於萬壽路二段山坡地，鄰近當地知名信仰中心壽山巖觀音寺。壽山國小是自百年老校龜山國小分出的四所學校之一，另三所為大崗、龍壽與福源國小。
