Shixing Elementary opened on August 1, 2005, built specifically to serve the county government's second land-readjustment zone — an area that today includes branch campuses of National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, along with a sports park. Before the school had its own principal, its founding was planned on an interim basis by the principal of nearby Guangming Elementary. Tseng Wen-chiu served as the school's first official principal.
十興國小於2005年8月1日啟用，專為服務縣治第二期土地重劃區而設立，該區域如今包含台灣大學與台灣科技大學分部及運動公園。設校初期尚無專任校長，先由鄰近光明國小校長暫代籌備工作，其後由首任校長曾文秋正式接任。
