From security training ground to junior high.
Shipai Junior High's preparatory office opened on July 1, 1986, and the school formally opened on July 1, 1988, under founding principal Huang Zhong-xing, with an initial 20 classes. The campus site had previously been used by Taiwan's National Security Bureau for anti-communist training purposes before becoming a school. Shipai Junior High was carved out of neighboring Shipai Elementary's grounds as the surrounding area's population grew rapidly through the 1980s.
石牌國中籌備處於民國75年（1986年）7月1日成立，並於民國77年（1988年）7月1日正式開校，首任校長為黃忠幸，初設20班。校地原為國家安全局反共訓練用地，後改建為學校。石牌國中是從鄰近的石牌國小校地劃分而出，因應民國70年代該地區人口快速成長的需求而設立。
