Shilin Senior High School of Commerce was established in 1951 as "Taipei Municipal Junior Commercial Vocational School," formed by merging three former junior commercial schools — Taiping, Laosong, and Songshan — along with the Ximen supplementary school. The school gained a senior division in 1954 and moved to its current Shilin campus in 1970. Over the decades it has become one of Taipei's most prominent public commercial/vocational high schools, with alumni-turned-principals going on to lead other flagship municipal high schools across the city.
士林高商創立於民國40年（1951年），初名「臺北市立初級商業職業學校」，由太平、老松、松山三所初級商業學校及西門補習學校合併而成。民國43年（1954年）增設高級部，民國59年（1970年）遷至現址士林。多年來已成為臺北市最具代表性的公立商業職業學校之一，多位傑出校友出任其他臺北市指標高中的校長。
