Shijian Elementary School opened in August 1973 with 18 classes, serving the Jingmei area of Wenshan District.
The original campus measured only 2,468 square meters. In 1989, an additional 1,506 square meters was transferred from the neighboring Shijian Junior High School to expand the site — a reflection of the close historical relationship the two schools share, beyond just a common name.
