Shidong Elementary School

Shidong Elementary School's history began on April 1, 1940, during the Japanese colonial era, as the "Shilin Sankakuho Branch School," a branch campus of what is now Shilin Elementary. It became independent as "Shilin Higashi (East) Public School" in 1941 and was renamed several times before taking its current name, "士東國民小學," in 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform. The school's first post-war principal, appointed in 1945, was Liu Li-rong; it passed through Caoshan Management Bureau and then Yangmingshan Management Bureau administration before finally coming under Taipei City in 1974. The "Liixing Building" suffered structural damage in the 1999 921 earthquake. The school sits on Zhongshan North Road Section 6, in the affluent Tianmu/Shilin foothill corridor.

士東國小的歷史始於昭和15年（1940年）4月1日日治時期，初為「士林公學校三角埔分教場」，是今日士林國小的分校。1941年獨立設校，改名「士林東國民學校」，此後歷經多次更名，於民國57年（1968年）九年國教改制後定名為「士東國民小學」。1945年戰後首任校長為劉禮榮，學校歷經草山管理局、陽明山管理局，於1974年才正式改隸臺北市。「勵行樓」曾於1999年921大地震中受損。學校位於中山北路六段，坐落於天母、士林交界的富庶山麓地帶。
