National Shanhua Senior High School

National Shanhua Senior High School traces its roots to 1955, when it began as a joint wartime-evacuation branch serving students from Tainan First, Tainan Second, and Tainan Girls' high schools. It became a fully independent school on August 1, 1956, as “Taiwan Provincial Shanhua Middle School.” Junior-high classes were phased out in 1968 as nine-year compulsory education rolled out nationwide, leaving it a pure senior high, and it took its present name, National Shanhua Senior High School, in 2000 following the streamlining of Taiwan's provincial government. Sitting at the geographic center of greater Tainan on Dacheng Road, the school has long served as a hub for families from the surrounding sugar-market towns.

國立善化高級中學創校可追溯至1955年，最初是臺南一中、臺南二中與臺南女中戰時疏散聯合分部。民國45年（1956年）8月1日正式獨立設校，定名「臺灣省立善化中學」。民國57年（1968年）九年國教實施，初中部逐年停辦，成為純高中；民國89年（2000年）精省後改為現名「國立善化高級中學」。學校位於大成路，處於大台南地理中心位置，長期是周邊糖業市鎮學子求學的重鎮。
